David’s Financial Chief Financial Officer Ira Krell reviews Broadview’s Hosted VoIP service OfficeSuite and how he got the core features they needed within each office but also have a system where all branches are part of the larger system; something that the company simply couldn’t afford with individual on-site systems.
“We have reduced the number of phone calls our tellers have to field by about 40%. It has allowed us to better communicate with our customers and create a system where our customers experience David’s Check Cashing and its related companies in a more positive way.”
It’s not often that you read a glowing review of a service provider but Larry Haley, Telecommunications Manager for the Jewish Guild for the Blind isn’t shy about reviewing Broadview Networks .
Only a few years ago the Jewish Guild for the Blind based in Manhattan operated two offices in the State of New York. Today, they operate one of the largest managed care in New York.
Larry began looking for a new supplier in 2004. When they had problems with billing or service their provider was only interested in selling. Now, with Broadview Networks, Larry doesn’t have any complaints.
“Broadview doesn’t just sell products—they’re a real planning partner.” Read the full story
Regional manager Sean Ackerman manages 11 company locations and travels frequently to Paraco offices throughout upstate New York and Pennsylvania. Sean says, “I’m dependent on the USB Phone while I’m traveling—and in my home office. Because the USB Phone is a virtual office.”
Binder, Inc. of Great River, New York is an innovative company, developing climate controlled chambers for specialized manufacturing. They had an issue where their phone system was becoming a major cost center. The more people the hired, the more less cost-effective the system became.
Ron Breuer of Binder is responsible for office operations and knew he needed a better solution to keep up with headquarters in Germany and their customers throughout the Americas.
What he found was Broadview Networks’ SIP Trunking service that serves as the backbones for his all IP environment.
“We weren’t originally considering SIP but Broadview showed us how we could not only reduce our voice communications costs but also add redundancy to our data, using SIP.”
Geek Choice of Boston, Massachusetts likes OfficeSuite because there is so much they can do with the system.
Geek Choice relies on voice communications for their operation and their call center takes in more than a thousand calls a week from customers across the country. The utilize the system to dispatch techs in more than 38 states.
When the migrated from a PBX to the OfficeSuite platform, Matt Mackey said he was thrilled with the system. He called the web portal “amazing.” It allows them to tailor the system exactly to their needs.
“Using the web portal, all my desk settings can follow me, from the front office to the back office and on to Teleworker,” said Matt Mackey, Geek Choice Controller.
The Atlantic County Women’s Center in Linwood, New Jersey had purchased a phone system but quickly maxed out the voice mail platform. As a non-profit they didn’t have the budget to buy another system.
Broadview came in and installed OfficeSuite with no capital required. OfficeSuite gives them new flexibility as they can log-in to any phone and even take calls off-site. They also expanded their voice mail capability so now they never have problems with clients reaching counselors.
“It’s wonderful—and we’re a lot happier,” says Caren Fitzpatrick, Chief Financial Officer.
Financial Sources, Inc. is a financial planning firm that provides wealth management and personalized planning services to individuals. “We like to answer our calls ourselves as often as possible,” says Andrea Davies, office manager. “But with our other system, calls would drop because the Internet took precedence over the phone. When we had to use voicemail, it was cumbersome.”
So Financial Sources switched to Broadview Networks’ OfficeSuite hosted IP phone solution with integrated Internet access. “What isn’t there to like?” Davies asks. Voice is prioritized—while still delivering fast Internet connections—and an auto attendant delivers callers to the person with whom they want to speak. “OfficeSuite lets us forward incoming calls to our cell phones, so we don’t miss calls,” she says. And she likes the fact that when a call has to go to voicemail, the message can be delivered as an e-mail or as text to computers or cell phones.
Davies also uses OfficeSuite’s USB Phone. “Using the USB Phone, our office assistant can answer incoming calls from home and then transfer calls to different people at the office.”
OfficeSuite puts Financial Sources in charge of its own phone system. “I don’t have to call in and ask someone to make a change—and then wait for that to happen,” says Davies. “I know if it’s done by me, it’s what I want.
“I put a lot of value on maintaining a relationship—to me, that’s important. But my old phone company’s customer service was like a black hole.
I was trying to upgrade our phone system and increase the bandwidth. A lot of people started pointing fingers at each other and nothing got solved. Then Broadview came in. I believe in due diligence so I called Broadview’s references and they were all good.
The day after I returned from vacation, the new OfficeSuite system was installed and up and running. The training and administration were great. Having something like that go so smoothly during business hours is unusual.
No question, the system’s been well received. One of my employees told me, ‘I love this system!’ and that makes me feel good.”
“Our previous vendor was so difficult to reach that we had to physically get in the car and drive to their office.”
Crestmont Fabrics in Hauppauge, New York has been in business for more than a quarter of a century, so they know their way around. But that didn’t mean they wanted to have to look that hard for a service provider when they had issues. So Crestmont Fabrics went looking for another provider.
One of the company’s other vendors recommended Broadview Networks—and Broadview in turn recommended OfficeSuite. “I knew a little about VoIP,” says Jerry Narr, Crestmont’s Chief Administrative Officer. “But Broadview walked us through what OfficeSuite could do for our business and I liked that the web portal allows us to do things by ourselves.”
In the past, Crestmont had to bring in its provider whenever it needed a change to its system, and the provider was expensive and notoriously hard to find. “Now,” says Narr, “we make our own changes and we save money doing so.”
Narr adds, “Broadview’s service is reliable. It’s there for us every day.”

Rosenkilde & Associates Insurance believes that a referral is the greatest compliment. “It’s how we do business,” says David Rosenkilde, Vice-President. And that is why, after just four months with Broadview Network’s OfficeSuite system, he has already recommended the system several times.
When David went looking to replace his old phone system, his primary requirement was that the new system seamlessly manage communications between the firm’s two offices. He ruled out another traditional phone system because of its high costs and began checking out VoIP. “But the competition was do-it-yourself,” says Rosenkilde. “Broadview offered me a turnkey solution—and that was a deal closer.”
Rosenkilde & Associates deployed OfficeSuite in its two locations, and added several USB phones for out-of-office use. David says the OfficeSuite system has the flexibility he needs to manage calls between the two locations and he points to the “Park and Retrieve” feature, which lets him park a call in one location and have someone else retrieve it in another. “We can move calls back and forth seamlessly,” he says.
“It’s done everything that was promised.”
